Flush Gordon down the toilet!

Ughh.... I think I have just have seen one of the worst new shows in a long time. Flash Gordon.

Yes, I know it's the Sci-Fi Channel. If it's not called Battlestar Galactica or Doctor Who, then odds are it is really really bad show. The idea of the Sci-Fi Channel is great, but then again, so is Cartoon Network. Both of the networks show some of the absolute worst programming available on tv, but both have tiny bits of greatness. It is truly amazing that Sci-Fi can produce a show that is so amazing like Battlestar Galactica, but yet 90% of everything else they show is worse than watching a monkey play with its own poo. Doctor Who isn't produced by Sci-Fi, so I'm leaving it alone. Cartoon Network is the same way. Adult Swim is brilliant, but everything else on that channel is the one of the reasons kids have ADD today. I wish I had the money to make my own Sci-Fi channel and cartoon channel. It would blow those other two channels out of the water.

I am not a huge Flash Gordon fan. I have seen the original movie and yes I thought it was campy. It's not a movie I own and it's not a movie that I have any urge to really watch if it's on tv. This new show though is so bad though.
Normally, when I see a pilot of a new tv show, I expect it to be kind of dull and lacking. It's natural when it comes to pilots. You can usually tell if a show has potential though. You just get a feeling like the show you're watching could possibly become great. That is not the case though with Flash Gordon.

Some short reasons why the show sucked:
1. Bad acting
2. Ming went from a cool looking bald Max von Sydow with a goatee to a short blonde guy thats as menacing looking as a blank wall.
3. Zarkov went from the guy from Fiddler on the Roof to the guy who looks like Jason Alexander's stand in.
4. Bad plot. They're looking for the imax. In the show it's spelled imex, but they constantly say imax. It ridiculous sounding.
5. Flash went from being a star football player to a small town guy who has won 3 hometown marathons.
6. Bad acting(Yes, i know i put it on here twice)
7. There are fan films(any genre. pick one.)that are 10 million times more impressive than this show. It seriously made me think that maybe Sci-Fi had run a contest along the lines of,"Make your own home movie! We'll put it on the air!"

There are more reasons why the show sucked. I just decided to use this arena to vent. I hate it that there are corporate retards running these channels and their wasting money and a lot of peoples time to make shows this bad. How on God's green earth, did someone at Sci-Fi not see this pilot and go,"We need to do something about this immediately!"??? Do they actually expect people to watch this, take it seriously and keep watching? Just because you take a turd and call it something people are familiar with, it doesn't mean its not a turd. If NBC Universal we're smart, they would move Battlestar Galactica and Doctor Who to one of their other networks(USA Network) and shut down Sci-fi if they're not going to care about what they're showing.

Ughh... Congrats Sci-Fi. You managed to make a campy 80's movie look like Batman Begins next the crap you produced.

Sorry again. I had to vent.
