She should've given us a little notice. Thanks for coming out with us, though...and for having a couple of beers! :)
Hey saw your comment and as I do see where you might get the impression that it is gay let me assure that it is not. It is Gay friendly however and is a good reflection of the neighborhood. You should really give it another shot as the restaurant is really good with great food and even better service. So please go by there and try out the restaurant. I was also there on Saturday night but downstairs and may I say that there were plenty of families with kids all around us. Hope to see you there!!
I hope you don't think I was bashing anyone or anything. That totally wasn't my intention. I have absolutely nothing against Mad Donnas or the people that go there. Nothing at all whatsoever. I try and not judge people for the way they live. It was just a funny experience because we had no clue about the place and I've never been in an environment like that. I would totally go and eat at the restaurant sometime if the opportunity arose.
We were speaking with a couple of friends the other night and it dawned on us that a bar is a bar is a bar in some ways. Mad Donna's upstairs is a bar, and like many bar environments, people are out to meet other people, and are trying to look their best, be out-going and have fun. We're not used to ANY bar scene, so I think that might've contributed to the weirdness too. The restaurant does look nice. I'm more of a coffee-house kind of girl, rather than a night-time club/bar. You know?
it's tough being somewhere that's really out of your element- I tend to just find a way to leave whenever I start to feel really awkward in social situations- so hats off to you for sticking with it and being a good sport-
