Back from Vacation
Saturday, September 30, 2006
I just got back home from vacation. I am so exhausted from riding in a car for 14 hours yesterday. Here are few pics for starters... I will post a lot more later.

I know the thought that might go through your head when you first read
this.
"Pirates was good, maybe this one will be too." Before you think that, please remember that yes, Pirates was good. The Haunted Mansion and the Country Bears was not. The only and I mean only reason I will give this movie any early credit, is the fact that it is being developed by Al Gough and Miles Millar. They are the exec. producers of Smallville, one of my favorite shows on tv. I hope they're doing this just for fun or something.
Something new!
In keeping with the rest of the changes of my blog, I am starting a new weekly/possibly bi-weekly column.
Billy's Short Movie Reviews- I'm not going to go into a whole lot of detail really. You can trust me, I'm a professional.
The Protector- Crap. The action is cool, but after most of the action sequences, I felt like I just watched a stunt show at Six Flags or Universal Studios or something. It has a dumb story that you stop caring about during the first few minutes of the movie. One thing I didn't understand was the voice dubbing throughout the movie. A portion of the movie is supposed to take place in Thailand. I understand that part needed to have subtitles, obviously. The main character then travels to
Austrailia where most everyone speaks english, yet they dubbed over all of the english with english. To make matters
worse, the new dub over doesn't even really match the actors mouths. It seems to the viewer that the audio track is off
or something.
The Bottom Line: Watch Ong Bak. That was a a lot better than this.
Borat- The movie doesn't come out until November, but I saw it at a myspace screening last night. The movie is hilarious. The kind of hilarious that had me crying at least twice. If you don't know who Borat is, go to YouTube and look him up.
The Bottom Line: If you understand who and what Borat is, prepare to witness one of the funniest movies you have ever seen.
Jackass Number Two- Another one that will have you crying. I thought the first Jackass was over the top, but this one goes way over the top and then some. A couple of warnings. If you get sick easily, don't eat before you go. If the sight of poo, naked midgets, and naked 300 lb men bother you, don't go.
The Bottom Line: If you loved Jackass 1, then you are going to be in heaven with this one. Like Borat, it is one of the funniest (and shocking) movies you have ever seen.

I really don't know if it will be very wise to consume
the new drink from Red Bull.
A. It's called Cocaine. B. It's 350 times stronger than Red Bull.
This
could be cool. Read the end of the article though for kind of a reality check. It might not happen, but it could be cooler than watching Tom Cruise.
Oh yeah. I make it around to posting something else in the next few days, but then again I might not. From Saturday to next Saturday, I will be on a ship to the Bahamas. If anyone needs me, just email me. I think the ship will have internet access. I hope it does.

The Reservoir Dogs 15th Anniversary set
- I love the look of the case. Does this need another dvd release? No, but it just looks so darn cool!
The official online press kit for the Nintendo Wii.
User name: GUEST Password: NINTENDO. I love the ideas for some of the games they have. Trauma Center, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Zelda, Wii Sports, and Wario ware all sound like a lot of fun. SUPPOSEDLY, Gamestop and EBgames are only going to be taking reserves for one week only starting on Monday, Sept. 18 AND you have to trade in $50 worth of stuff just to be considered for it. I am kind of against this and kind of not. Trade in games I don't really play for $50 bucks towards the Wii is acceptable. Forcing people to trade in stuff just to reserve it just plain sucks!
Thanks to David for fixing my blog's layout issues. My blog should work now flawlessly in almost all browsers.

If anyone wants to watch the pilot episode of
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
, then here you go. Courtesy of AOL. I really liked it. It's not as comedic like the previews might make it look, but its still original and I will definately be adding it to my list of shows to DVR. I've seen a few of the new fall shows online already and I have to say that this is probably my favorite one so far.
Launch date and price for the Nintendo Wii.
I know what I'm getting in November!
I have no clue how
this is
related to the Xbox 360, but its freakin hilarious!
This is
really cool!
I'm not really big into popular shoes, or should I say I don't spend more than 50 bucks on shoes but I love
these Nike Dunks
. I love the themes they have. They have a Pee Wee Herman Shoe.
The new trailer for Mel Gibson's
Apocalypto
is out. It looks like it could be good, but still really weird. I don't care that Mel Gibson screwed up last month. He is still awesome in my book.
I can't believe that the president of Kazakhstan would actually waste a small amount of Bush's time to complain about
Borat.
Sacha Baron Cohen has to be lovin this. Dubya probably has no clue what Borat even is.

This guy's
music is horrible and his myspace page is really bad too. I would hope he is just kidding with this page. The Sexy Back cover is pretty funny.
If you want to show anyone a perfect example of a horrible myspace page, a major redneck, and a person that gives the south a bad name...
Here you go. All in one.

Transformers and a rant about remakes
Wednesday, September 06, 2006
Ok, time for a little 80's nerd talk plus a rant. If you want to change the channel now, please do. Anyways, I have been looking at these pictures that have been released of the Transformers from the new movie of the same name. I am confused and yet appalled about these new designs. Here are some pics of Optimus Prime and Megatron. I will explain some more below...
My first question if in fact these are what they are going to look like is this, How do they expect to have the toys transform? I'm not planning on buying them but that's a huge part of the Transformers. With the original Transformers, you could at least kind of tell what kind of machine they were when in robot form. With these, expecially Megatron, there's no way to figure that out.
I understand that people in Hollywood always use the excuse of "I'm bringing my vision to this movie" when making movies out of older ideas. I also understand that they are trying to update ideas for today's world. What sucks is that almost everytime Hollywood remakes something, they always butcher up the things that made people love the shows/movies to begin with. Hollywood almost always ends up trying to cater to the complete opposite crowd of the originals intended audience. A perfect example is The Honeymooners and The Dukes of Hazzard. While I didn't see the Honeymooners movie, anyone could tell from the trailer that it's target audience was the complete opposite of what it should have been. Nothing against Mr. the Entertainer or anything. The Dukes of Hazzard was a family adventure show, and they ended up turning it into almost a teen sex comedy. I am surprised that Hollywood hasn't learned its lesson yet. If your faithful to the themes and ideas a show or movie has, it will have a better chance at succeeding. If not, it will turn into one of the many wastes of money like these stink bombs:
Æon Flux
The Avengers
The Beverly Hillbillies
Bewitched
The Brady Bunch
Car 54, Where Are You?
Dudley Do-Right
Dukes of Hazzard
Fat Albert
George of the Jungle
The Honeymooners
Inspector Gadget
I Spy
Josie and the Pussycats
Leave it to Beaver
Little Rascals
Lost in Space
McHale's Navy
The Mod Squad
Masters of the Universe
Mr. Magoo
My Favorite Martian
Ri¢hie Ri¢h Rocky and Bullwinkle
Scooby-Doo
Sergeant Bilko
S.W.A.T.
Wild Wild West
I will give credit for the absolute few that were either entertaining and/or good(still, these were butchered versions):
The Addams Family(the first one)
Charlie's Angels(the first one)
Maverick
Mission:Impossible
Starsky &Hutch
Thats enough for today. Feel free to add a bad movie to the list or tell me if you disagree with my lists or observations. Let's all hope Hollywood doesn't touch The Andy Griffith Show. That might actually be the one to cause a revolt if they even try and touch that.

Crikey.
It's a sad day for all who loved the Crocodile Hunter... It should have been Christopher Lowell, Jerry Springer, Rosie O' Donnell, or any of the judges on the court shows.
Halloween Costumes
I now present to you some of the halloween costumes new for this year. While I have an idea about what I want to go as, these are still pretty humorous.
Count Chocula
Frankenberry
Lucky the Leprachaun
Lt. Dangle from Reno 911!
Lederhosen
Green Giant
Tony Montana
Stewie
Cartman
They will make a costume out of anything these days. This proves it.
When **** hits the fan
Harvey Birdman
V for Vendetta
Davey Jones
Lost dog
These are just crazy. No one is going to pay 6 to 7 hundred dollars for a costume. Batman and Hulk are cool looking. Superman isn't.
Superman
Batman
The Hulk
What I did on my summer vacation... pt.1

Gone is the look my apartment has had for well, ever. I decided it was time to give my place a home makeover. It might be hard to tell from the pictures, but I worked hard all week on it. The only room I didn't touch was my bedroom. That will be a huge ordeal whenever I decide to get started on it. Those that know what my apartment normally looks like I think will be shocked. All movie stuff, I mean all movie stuff, has been removed except for the Star Wars posters. I even removed the floor mat inside. Here are some pics of my front room as it looks now...
What else did I do on my vacation? I started going to my sister and her fiance's church. I really like it. They do a good job at not pushing their beliefs on you. I also really like the way the pastor teaches. It's almost like sitting in a history class. He gives background information on what he's teaching and instead of preaching sermons, he basically teaches you the bible verse by verse. It's not what I grew up with, but I enjoy it. I think I am going to make an effort to go often. I know that not everyone that reads this will care about church, but I like the feeling that I get after going to this church. It's not big and its not run by a bunch of pastors like most other churches.
Oh yeah, I also started growing a beard on my vacation. I haven't decided yet whether to shave it. I know I'm gonna get made of by my boss.
