Happy Halloween!
Tuesday, October 31, 2006
Dude.....
Can you imagine the look on a kids face if "Santa" brought them this for Christmas?
This
is way too much... I don't think I would ever admit to owning all of this.
These
pictures are hilarious. Be sure to look at the finalists too.
Also is the spirit of Halloween,
here are
some Japanese halloween costumes. Very Odd.
Smokin' Aces

I saw
this preview
for Smokin' Aces on Saw III the other night. It looks like it could be really good. Watch the 480p version on the format page after the link. Saw III by the way is ok, but is obviously the weakest of the 3 movies. The first one was really good, the second was good considering you knew what to expect, but the third one is nothing special. It's obvious that the producers were more concerned with coming up with crazy "gadgets" than coming up with a good story. I read their already working on a Saw 4. uuugggghhhh....

Mix celebrities with Star Wars characters.
Some of these entries are great. Here are some of my favorite ones....

Wii game info.
The Wii Sports section has some funny video of people playing Wii Sports games for the first time. Most of the people playing are people you wouldn't normally see playing video games.
I never thought about

Wii!

I put money down today for the Nintendo Wii. November 19 is going to be an awesome day.
Dharma Initiative Videos and The Lost Experience
Here are some videos you may or may not have seen. These are from The Lost Experience, an over the summer way to keep Lost fans busy. The first video is basically explaing what The Dharma Initiative is and who's behind it. The second video is from the main character of this "adventure", Rachel Blake. Since I didn't keep up with this over the summer, I'm not entirely sure if I have the details 100%, so read
this.
It basically outlines the whole Lost Experience. Also,
TheLostExperience.com
is a really good site to check out.

I-Mockery's Ultimate Guide to the Halloween Candies of 2006
is here. Candy companies sure are putting a lot more thought into halloween candy now. There are 4 pages of candies, so check them all out. Candy Heads could become the next Oozinator. When you see it, you'll know what I mean....

What do Martin Lawrence, William H. Macy, John Travolta, and Tim Allen have in common?
This is a little disturbing...
Very cool poster design for
The Prestige.
SWEET!!!
I look like whom??
So, I saw this link for
MyHeritage.com
which features a face recognition program that tells you what celebrities you look like. I think they need to work on their program a bit more, it could be broken. While it's awesome that I like Superman and it thought I looked like Clark Kent, I honestly don't believe that I look like Tom Welling. There are a couple of other obvious reasons why I think it could be broken. I would love to see what it says about anyone else. Post your pics here. It could be really funny!
Fall Shows Update
Friday, October 06, 2006
Here are some articles from
Dark Horizons
about how some of the new Fall shows are doing. Yes, I know I have posted quite a bit about fall tv shows. I will try and ease back a little. I figure though that there is so much on and we all enjoy it, so why not talk about it. You really should see my DVR schedule. I think I have at least three shows recording every weekday night. God bless you, DVR inventor! On with the articles....
Production on NBC's action show
Kidnapped
will cease once the show's 13th episode has been filmed, making it the first show of the new season to get the axe.
Despite generally good reviews the series has struggled in the ratings. The good news is show creator Jason Smilovic will wrap up the main storyline of the serial drama so there won't be any threads left hanging.
****Billy Note****
I haven't seen Kidnapped but from what I have read a lot of people really like the show and say it's one of the best new shows.

Meanwhile NBC's new superhero drama
Heroes
has been given a full-season pickup from the network after its strong debut and a second week which saw ratings hold steady.
The show, along with NBC's other new efforts
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
and
Friday Night Lights
, all received critical laudits but "Heroes" is the only one so far that has hit it big in the ratings.
"Heroes" is also one of the few shows that is receiving far more acclaim for its post-pilot episodes, whereas others like "Studio 60" are already being derided for a drop in quality.
ABC's
Lost
third season premiere averaged 18.5 million total viewers, down 25 percent from its season two premiere, but equal to its season two finale.
The same network's much hyped but lackluster new drama
The Nine
slipped over 30 percent from its "Lost" season premiere lead-in to deliver 11.96 million viewers - not bad but far from great figures. More notably the show lost viewers over the course of its hour.
On Tuesday
Veronica Mars
season-three premiere on The CW matched its best-ever ratings in the demographic and was its fourth most watched episode ever (3.3 million viewers).
****Billy Note****
I love Veronica Mars. It's not hard to start watching so if you can, give it a try!
****End Billy Note****
NBC's critically acclaimed drama "Friday Night Lights" premiered to weak ratings on Tuesday with 7.2 million total viewers and a third position timeslot.
None of Fox's new shows are doing very well so after baseball playoffs, the network is switching much of it around.
Spike TV has confirmed that its series version of "Blade" will not be renewed for a second season due to a drastic fall-off in ratings (2.5 million for the premiere vs. 0.9 million for the finale).
Sci Fi Channel is reportedly close to renewing the Summer series
Eureka
about a quirky Pacific Northwest town populated by geniuses. The show has averaged 2.76 million viewers a week.
I heart The Office
Last night's episode of The Office was great. In case you didn't see it, here it is in 3 parts. Hopefully, the videos won't be take down.

Part Two

This has to be one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time...
The Only Bright Spot... and the New TV Show Roundup
Monday, October 02, 2006
This was the only skit I found funny on the season premiere of SNL. It's kind of sad really. Most of the people on SNL can be really funny, except Kenan Thompson. Cubicle Fight was pretty funny, but A. most of the SNL Digital Shorts are pretty funny and B. YouTube won't let me embed it into my blog. Is anyone else tired of SNL's political skits? I used to think they were funny, but now they're just stupid and none of the impressions are good or funny.
New TV show stuff-
- If you're not watching Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, you should be. It's a pretty good show and its different. I like how it gives you perspective into how tv shows and sketch comedy shows in particular are made. It might not be accurate but its still interesting.
- Heroes is only on it's second episode, but I'm really interested in where they're going to go with this show. Due to the nature of the show, it could get really stupid. Then again, it could turn into a really great show. I guess I will have to give it a few more weeks.
- Six Degrees is an interesting concept from J.J. Abrams. If you haven't seen it, you can watch the first two episodes on abc.com. You can actually watch all of these shows on NBC and ABC's websites. Six Degrees deals with the concept/theory that anyone on the planet can be connected to any other person through a chain of six people. Naturally, the show has six main characters that interact with each other in New York. Some of them interact unknowingly. Like Heroes, its been on only two episodes so its still too early to tell if this show is going to be good and exactly what direction they plan on going with on the show. Like Heroes, I'm going to give it a few more weeks.
All of these shows are worth checking out and because they just started a couple of weeks ago, you won't be that far behind. I'm still confused why I like Studio 60 so much more than Heroes. Next week is the premiere of 30 Rock, so set your DVRs. God bless DVRs. Without them I would be lost. Feel free to comment about these or any other new shows you've watched!
